Getting an instrument that's been out in the field back to me is an interesting experience. Whether it's an instrument that's been on tour, basement/bedroom played, or that's just sat in its case, it's always a little different than when I'd delivered it.
One thing I've noticed since doing wooden knobs is that they tend to take a pretty good beating and end up looking a little worse for wear when they come back. In hopes of correcting this going forward, I'll be doing a cyanoacrylate (superglue) finish wooden knobs for instruments. Going forward, I think this will be another really cool feature for my guitars as well as being something that'll make them a little more durable.
